If you are in menopause or perimenopause (the transition to it), you may feel experience sudden flushing of the face, feelings of warmth, and excessive perspiration. These are vasomotor symptoms better known as hot flashes and night sweats.Vasomotor symptoms are related to nerves that regulate blood flow and affect the narrowing and widening of blood vessels. They occur due to declining hormone levels and their effect on the part of the brain that regulates body temperature, though that's likely not the only reason.
